Community Health Needs Assessment

The 2007 Community Health Needs Assessment is Here!

In 2006, EMHS commissioned the Center for Health Policy, Planning and Research (CHPPR) at the University of New England to conduct a second independent Community Healthcare Needs Assessment and Service Planning Study to study the health status of residents of nine counties that make up the EMHS service area. This survey builds on a baseline survey completed in 2001 which studied population health and recommended health service needs in communities throughout northern, eastern, and central Maine. The recently released report provides comprehensive information on a variety of topics including community health education, access to primary care, care for chronic conditions, geriatric care, and mental health.

The Community health Needs Assessment was funded by EMHS Healthcare Charities.
